The app “Monument BW” can be downloaded free of charge from the major app stores. It provides tours and information relating to palaces, monasteries, gardens, and other treasures across Baden-Württemberg. Tours can be downloaded and used offline. A Discovery Tour includes around 20 stations with deep dive and lasts approximately one and a half hours, depending on the size of the monument and your pace. Discovery Tours for adults are available in German and English, and for some monuments also in French and other languages.

Once you’ve downloaded the app, your smartphone is your companion throughout your visit to the monument. An overview map showing all stations makes it easy to find your way around and get from one station to the next. If you wish you can enable location services and route guidance – then you can start your tour right away. Numerous audio and image stations not only provide insights into the historical background of the monument, they also enable you to listen to dialogues and interviews and explore image galleries and videos. And if you wish to delve even deeper, there all kinds of intriguing details to explore such as information about historical personalities and restoration work. If time is limited, the tour can be shortened to focus on the highlights of a monument.
