App "Monument BW"DECLARATION ON BARRIER-FREE ACCESS

The State Palaces and Gardens of Baden-Württemberg endeavor to make their mobile application (app) accessible to all in accordance with § 10 (1) of the Landesbehindertengleichstellungsgesetz (L-BGG) (state disabilities act).

This declaration on barrier-free access applies to the mobile application (app) for "Monument BW".

1. Current compliance with requirements

This/These mobile application (app) is only partially compliant with § 10 (1) of the L-BGG due to the following contradictions and exceptions.

2. Content lacking barrier-free accessibility

Exceptions based on disproportionate burden according to Section 10 (2) L-BGG apply temporarily to the following content and functions.

The following features are not accessible or only partially accessible:

  • Display and text size: Adjusting the font size is currently only possible on a limited scale; however, most of the content is available as an audio track.
  • Screen reader compatibility: The app is currently only fully accessible with a screen reader. Content items created in the rich text editor of the content management system (CMS) and not statically embedded in the app cannot yet be correctly interpreted by screen readers in terms of their role and value (headline types H1, H2, H3, bold, italics and links). This also applies to the 360° panoramas in certain sections.
  • Focus order: The correct focus order has not yet been logically implemented across all screen views; this affects keyboard navigation and voice control.
  • Keyboard navigation: Not all sections of the app can currently be fully controlled using a keyboard.
  • Orientation: The app is primarily designed for use in portrait mode. A full adaptation for landscape orientation would require a fundamental redesign of the app, which would constitute a disproportionate burden under Section 10 (2) L-BGG (Landes-Behindertengleichstellungsgesetz – State Act on Equal Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities). However, for certain features such as detailed views of videos and images or views that require keyboard input, the screen does adjust its orientation.

We are making every effort to improve these aspects as quickly as possible.
