"Monument BW" AppDeclaration on accessibility

1. Current compliance with requirements

This mobile application (app) is only partially compliant with Section 10 (1) L-BGG due to the following issues.

2. Which aspects did we focus our efforts on?

We have taken care to make our app as accessible as possible for everyone. Our focus has been on achieving the highest possible level of usability and user-friendliness for as many people as possible.

• The app can be used with screen readers such as VoiceOver (iOS) or TalkBack (Android).
• Buttons and images include descriptive alternative text.
• The app offers high-contrast display options.
• Adjusting the font size is currently only possible on a limited scale; however, most of the content is available as an audio track.
• In general, the app can also be used without sound.
• A list of tours in Plain Language is available at all times via the side menu.
• The navigation is clearly structured and easy to understand.
• The app is available free of charge.

Some content or features are not yet fully accessible. This currently applies to the following:

• Individual interactive elements such as tours with map-based navigation.
• A small number of texts that are not yet correctly recognised by screen readers in terms of roles and structure (H1, H2, H3, bold, italics).
• Landscape screen orientation, which is currently available only for certain functions such as detailed views of videos and images and for views that require keyboard input.

We are working to improve these aspects as quickly as possible.

5. Implementation procedure

In order to enable us to ensure that the “Monument BW” app meets the requirements set forth in Section 10 (1) L-BGG, you can contact the State Palaces and Gardens of Baden-Württemberg and provide us with relevant feedback. See Section 4 of this declaration for the contact details.

If the State Palaces and Gardens of Baden-Württemberg do not respond to your inquiry within the period stipulated in Section 8 sentence 1 L-BGG-DVO Verordnung zur Durchführung des Landes-Behindertengleichstellungsgesetzes – Ordinance on the Implementation of the State Act on Equal Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities), you may contact the State Commissioner for the Disabled or the locally responsible officer for the disabled within the scope of the ombud/advocate role described in Section 14 (2) L-BGG and Section 15 (3) sentence 2 L-BGG.
