The Weikersheim Palace Gardens are one of the few royal garden complexes of the high Baroque age that have been preserved in virtually their original structure. This year the State Palaces and Gardens will celebrate the 300th anniversary of the gardens. Here auriculas, fashionable flowers of the Baroque, play a special role in spring.
In 2008 the state-owned palaces have even more anniversaries to offer. Duke Carl Eugen of Württemberg founded the Palace Theater and the Porcelain Manufactory in Ludwigsburg in 1758. Both institutions have preserved their traditional heritage until today. Those who are Interested can learn fascinating details in special guided tours!

High above Lake Constance lies the baroque "Fürstenhäusle" (Sovereign's Little House) surrounded by vineyards. It was once built as the garden house of a canon of Constance. The little jewel before the magnificent panorama of the palace and the Alps was at times home to the poetess Annette of Droste-Hülshoff (1797-1848) beginning in 1843/44. The museum in the Fürstenhäusle is also devoted to her. It has now been reopened for guests.
